Inside $1.1 Million Showroom
Crescendo Designs built a $1.1 million showroom, complete with a fully automated home with $500,000 worth of electronics, to impress clients.
Not many integrators are building new showrooms these days, but if you are and your territory happens to be located in one of the most affluent zip codes in the nation, you’d better make it a lavish one.
That’s what Chris Brody, president of Crescendo Designs Ltd., did. The company is located in the prestigious Hamptons area of Long Island, N.Y., where being “elite” doesn’t even cut it … you have to among the “super elite” to make it here.
Crescendo has leveraged all of its top-of-the-line manufacturers to create an incredible Experience Center in Southampton that features a fully automated home with $500,000 worth of high-performance electronics and $400,000 in other amenities, from high-end Italian furniture to custom kitchen cabinets. Construction costs were another $190,000, bringing the total cost of the 2,500-square-foot facility to roughly $1.1 million.
Crescendo, which was founded in 2002 and is a member of the Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) buying group, hired architect Blaze Makoid for the project, with the design by Sagaponack.
The facility took five months to construct and is open to the public. It’s manned by the existing sales staff.
Brody says about 60 percent of Crescendo’s clients visit the Experience Center, which features Trufig wall plate and Lutron lighting control throughout. “The trick to this is to be in a convenient location and have a place worth visiting,” he adds.

Very impressive guys, I commend you. It looks beautiful, top to bottom. It takes a lot of guts and shrewd dealmaking to build a place like yours, and I wish you huge success.
