Imagining a SpeakerCraft without Jeremy Burkhardt
SpeakerCraft and the CE industry without Jeremy Burkhardt: Yawn.
He threw a circus-themed party with an
He had a lot of tattoos and he wasn't afraid to show them.
For the CE Pro 100 Summit, Jeremy bought the big sponsorship which gave SpeakerCraft a 30-minute speaking slot. He filled the time with a drum circle one year and a bagpipe band the next.
During the big EHX 2004 keynote address featuring the Top 10 Leaders of the decade, he was the only one in a T-shirt and jeans. And, of course he was the only one that had a big gold chain dangling from his pockets.

Over the years, he has ranted and raved on industry forums and social networks so exuberantly that his typos became something of an industry legend.
But you can say this about Jeremy: he kept it lively, and he kept it personal.
I know dealers who were really struggling at a time when SpeakerCraft was probably struggling, too. Yet Jeremy personally extended their credit lines, accepted product returns, and helped them weather the storm in any way possible.
I would never want to be Jeremy's boss, but I've always been happy to be his friend and colleague. I guess we're kindred spirits that way. No one wants to be my boss either, which is why I don't have one!
Oh, what will SpeakerCraft be like without Jeremy Burkhardt at the helm? Parent company Nortek (NTK) announced his retirement today. Here's what we imagine ...

Thanks, Buzz. Wait for his obit! This x10.
What Buzz Said.. Very funny, and a fitting tribute…
A fitting tribute. Well done.
Very gutsy considering you live on advertising dollars.
Here is my rendition of future SpeakerCraft ad revenue:
It was a KISS tribute band - Mini Kiss!
Oh, shoot, Arlen. I was close. I mean, I didn’t say it was the Neil Diamond tribute singers.
That was wonderful Julie, you rogue!
We already know the answer, that corporate entities do not improve and prevail without their founding wizards, savants, and their guiding lights. After all, where is Polk without Matthew, Boston Acoustics without Frank and Andy, Snell without Peter, and so on…
Guess Nortek didn’t like him saying he would make his Nirv dealers whole, not gonna happen! Speakercraft must finally be getting sucked into the rest of the group of companies where the face of each brand is just that but have no say in what really goes on with the brand!! And I bet they have something in place where Jeremy can’t tell you how he really feels, what really happened, and speak his mind, which is not like him at all!
Jeremy, good luck to you!

Well done Julie. Laughing as I shake my head in agreement. A fitting tribute.
