How to Cut Your Service Costs

Multiple EHX Spring training sessions will look at remote monitoring systems that cut down truck rolls and create recurring revenue.

Given the state of the economy, product margins are continuously decreasing putting more pressure on dealers to find new sources of income. Moreover, as home automation systems become more complex the problems and headaches associated with them become more common.

The numerous pieces of equipment required for complex home automation systems and the countless complexities of each part create hundreds of possible points of failure. Today, however, dealers have the ability to easily maintain and monitor their client’s electronics systems and resolve issues remotely without having to roll a truck.

One solution is remote monitoring and servicing. In the Recurring Revenue Pavilion at EHX Spring in Orlando this week, ihiji (booth #833N) will be demonstrating invision, the company’s 24-hour remote monitoring and servicing solution. Designed specifically for the residential custom installation channel, invision continuously monitors electronics systems, proactively detecting causes of potentially critical issues.

The system eliminates problems before they become major outages, often times before a client knows there was any trouble at all. This proactive approach leads to better performing systems with extremely high uptime, thus creating a higher level of customer satisfaction.

While at EHX, attendees can learn more about the value of creating recurring revenue for your business by attending the Dealer to Dealer session Making Money Again & Again: Secrets of Recurring Revenue, on Friday, March 26, from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. ihiji co-founder and vice president of technical operations Michael Maniscalco will join CEPro editor Jason Knott and a panel of industry experts in this session designed to educate dealers on the benefits of establishing a recurring revenue model, while learning about profit margins and business models for security monitoring, concierge services, service contracts, remote diagnostics, PERS and others. This session is located on the CEPro Stage in CE Pro HQ at the heart of the Expo Floor.

Maniscalco will also lead two additional presentations on ihiji’s invision solution. These sessions will also include a comprehensive discussion outlining ways dealers can approach new and existing clients with a ground-breaking system, while offsetting declining revenues stemming from a weak economy and reduced profit margins.

These sessions are open to all EHX attendees and will take place on Friday, March 26, from 5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 27, from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., at the New Opportunities Pavilion Stage located on the EHX show floor.
