How Do Your Wages & Benefits Compare?
First-ever compensation study reveals median pay scales by region, along with benefits, bonuses and more.
Like most small business owners, CE pros have lots of questions when it comes to managing their staff. What benefits to offer, how to effectively compensate salespeople, when to outsource, what wages to pay various ranks of employees, and how you pay yourself are all very common concerns.
That’s why CE Pro developed the first-ever CE Pro Wage & Salary Survey. The goal is to give integrators a sense of some common benchmarks and best practices being done by others in the industry.
In order to make the information most valuable, the wage data has been broken down regionally. The survey was conducted in the fall with 198 respondents. All responses are confidential and presented only in aggregate.
Among the highlights from the data is that there is no secret formula for sales compensation, self-payment or employee bonuses and benefits. Employees from Western and Midwestern companies tend to make more money in most categories, especially for experienced salespeople and technicians.
More than three out of every four dealers do not outsource any aspect of their business. Among those who do, accounting/bookkeeping, electrical, computer/IT, and pre-wiring are the most common.

Ah, I see the Benefits slides. I assume they are not rolled into the salary numbers, correct?

The chart only deals with wages. Are benefits included pro rata or will we see them broken out separately later on?
