HAA Calibration Kit Works with Apple iOS Devices
The new AVPro Professional Audio Analysis Kit from the Home Acoustics Alliance (HAA) allows installers to use their iPads in tandem with the kit's software, testing microphones and iOS interface to accurately test and analyze audio system installations.
During the past few years the consumer audio industry has made huge strides in terms of delivering new and improved audio formats, and other technologies that improve the public’s listening experience. One of the most highly publicized improvements has been the wide adoption of equalization (EQ) technologies that are designed to automatically compensate for the biggest variable in any audio system: the room.
The only problem with these EQ solutions is that they don’t always address all of the problems that may plague a room and audio system. The Home Acoustics Alliance (HAA) has been addressing these issues through dealer training and other initiatives for years and recently through its partners the AVPro Alliance and Studio Six Digital the industry trade group has announced its new The Professional Audio Analysis Kit that it designed to accurately and thoroughly test and analyze audio systems.
According to the HAA the audio calibration kit is specifically designed to work with Apple’s line of iOS devices which includes the iPad and iPhone, and the total investment in the kit provides dealers with a bigger cost savings than traditional testing devices. The kit features the AVPro Alliance iMUX four microphone multiplexer that allows for accurate spatially averaged measurements, and four type 2 microphones that are engineered for audio measurement. The kit also includes the AudioControl iAudioInterface2 Microphone preamplifier that facilitates the use of the microphones and multiplexer. The iAudioInterface is complemented by the inclusion of a digital audio generator that eliminates the need for a test tones disc or a separate test-tone generator.
AVPro’s 2.0 calibration software ties all of the hardware together and it connects via Wi-Fi to a network and it includes the latest HAA checklists and voice-based user tips. The HAA bundles the kit in a protective soft case to allow installers to transport the entire package to jobs sites without having to worry about damaging the components or fumbling with cables and other accessories.
