Press Release: GefenTV Extends Ethernet over Poewrline, Coax
Promises transfer speeds up to 200 Mbps

03.12.2008 — Orlando, FL—GefenTV, the new prosumer line from Gefen, demonstrates two of its latest innovations at EHX: Ethernet over PLC and Ethernet over Coax extenders. These sender/receiver systems allow you to run multiple Ethernet connections over in-home power line (i.e. any standard wall jack) or in-wall coax cable.

With either of these systems, the instant delivery of Internet video, data, music and more may be achieved anywhere in the home or office over a secured, wired connection.

GefenTV Ethernet over PLC

This solution enables users to simply distribute Ethernet using any standard power outlet wall jack in the home. This revolutionary method means no extension wires or category-5 cables are needed to deliver the Internet anywhere it is needed. Small, portable sender and receiver units support up to four Ethernet 10/100m connections with transfer speeds up to 200 Mbps.

GefenTV Ethernet over Coax

This model allows the use of coax cables to deliver Ethernet data throughout the home using a simple connection of the sender and receiver units. The receiver comes with four Ethernet ports allowing for multiple connections at the remote destination. With a maximum transfer rate of 200 Mbps, this solution offers an easy method of ensuring the delivery of Ethernet using existing coax cable infrastructure without sacrificing speed or signal quality.
