Gefen Wireless for HDMI Extender Delivers 1080i
Extends HDMI 90 feet via Amimon's 5GHz wireless technology.

09.02.2008 — Gefen is unveiling its Wireless for HDMI Extender, which delivers 1080i resolutions with HDCP compliance.

The connectivity solutions provider is demonstrating the extender at its booth (518) at CEDIA Expo 2008.

The no-cable extender uses Amimon's 5GHz wireless technology to deliver uncompressed HDMI audio and video up to 30 meters (90 feet).

The two-box solution comes with a sender unit that connects to the HD source, and a receiver unit that connects to the remote HD display.

The system does not require line-of-sight to work, meaning equipment can be placed in any desired location.

Gefen did not release pricing or availability.
