Gefen HDMI RS-232 Extender Sends HDMI Over CAT-5
Transmits 1080p resolutions 150 feet and 1080i resolutions up to 300 feet.
Gefen's HDMI RS-232 Extender sends HDMI, RS232, and IR signals over two CAT-5 cables.
Users can adjust displays, change settings and access A/V sources with 1080p resolutions up to 150 feet and 1080i resolutions up to 300 feet.
The extender is also HDCP compliant, and an optional Gefen IR Emitter cable extends IR signals.
"Entertainment venues, retail spaces and presentation rooms using HDMI sources and displays can use this product to deliver a hi-def source or computer to any location with real-time RS-232 control," says Gefen president Hagai Gefen.
Installation requires connecting the A/V and RS-232 equipment to the sender, and the display to the receiver.
MSRP is $599 with source connection cables included.
