Find 3D Video Clips Online
The only 3D Blu-ray title currently available is Dreamworks’ “Monsters vs. Aliens.”
As the 3D community waits for DirecTV and Verizon Fios to join Comcast in carrying 3D channels, there are some other 3D options, said Mark Spector, AVAD Region East 2 (Woburn, Mass.) branch manager, during a two-day 3D event hosted by the distributor at its 26 U.S. and two Canadian branches April 13-14.
AVAD showed attending dealers the Samsung 3D starter kit and offered advice on how to demo and sell 3D. “Monsters vs. Aliens” is part of the 3D starter kit along with two pairs of 3D shutter glasses.
Spector also showed dealers some 3D clips he downloaded from biohemmet.se, a Swedish site. The site notes that the video clips are optimized for viewing using Nvidia’s 3D vision technology.
“Most of the clips are pretty bad, but they’re worth knowing about,” Spector said, adding that the 3D effects are “nowhere near as dramatic” as the ones in “Monsters vs. Aliens.”
I can confirm. Spector showed me some “Monster vs. Aliens” clips in which the 3D elements were very powerful. Then he showed me a biohemmet.se clip — not so much.
Still, during this early stage of selling 3D TVs dealers need to know about every tool at their disposal.
Following are some stills of Swedish site biohemmet.se's downloadable 3D clips:

Did I really say “pooping”!? I meant “popping”.
Actually, some of the nVidia clips can be played right from a flash drive on the Samsung 3D sets. The Nürburgring vid has the best video quality, but the 3D effect is a bit weak.
There are also a few downloadable clips at http://3dguy.tv . These will work on a flash drive as well. For the most part they are weak too, but at least you can show customers how it works when Comcast does 3D (side-by-side) and why it’s only 1/2 resolution.

Hi
Im the owner of biohemmet.se and If u regiter at my forum you can find full HD 3D videos with much better quality. You need to register at the forum to be abel to download them. The 3D trailers on the site can vary in quality but that will change when there are more 3D materials out.
Best Regards
Tobias

Don’t forget about Yabazam (http://www.yabazam.com). This site launched in Nov 2009 and was the first place that offered full color 3D HD trailers and movies for download and purchase. DDD, whose 3D technology is in the Samsung 3D TVs and Acer 3D laptops, runs this site and they actually help the content creators make money (rather than just offering everything for free.)

Don’t forget YouTube as a resource. They have dedicated 3D channels like this one: http://www.youtube.com/user/3D. I know it’s not the first place CE Pros might look for video clips to demo, but until more 3D content is available it may be worth a look.
Also, Nvidia has downloadable movie clips at: http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_3D_Movies.html.
Of course, both of these options would require a CE Pro to have a capable PC or media server handy to demo versus pooping a 3D Blu-ray Disc into a player.
