ELAN Home Systems has started shipping its XP-8.4 Wireless Touch Panel two months ahead of schedule.
The
XP-8.4, which debuted at
CEDIA Expo 2008, features a 8.4-inch screen, a built-in web browser and 802.11g wireless.
It provides information and real-time status data for:
- Lighting
- Temperature
- Pools and spas
- Security systems
"Our new XP-8.4 provides reliable, user-friendly system control, Web browsing and audio/video streaming, plus many added extras making it a one-of-a-kind wireless controller," says ELAN president and CTO Bob Farinelli.
The system runs on Windows XP and has Flash Player support. Included in the XP-8.4 package is a tabletop docking/recharging cradle with Ethernet and USB ports and an "extra-long-life" battery pack.
Customizable screen layouts are available for the XP-8.4 Wireless Touch Panel. Screen displays can be selected to also match ELAN's VIA! Touch Panels and Olé touchpads.
