Press Release: ELAN Home Systems Opens Training Facility in Marblehead, Mass.
New facility is located within sister company HomeLogic's corporate headquarters.

08.29.2008 — LEXINGTON, Ky. — ELAN Home Systems, a leading manufacturer of award-winning Multi-Room audio/video and home control systems, announced today a major boost for Dealers of all three brands under the ELAN umbrella (ELAN, Sunfire, HomeLogic) with the opening of its newest hands-on training facility in Marblehead, Massachusetts. The announcement was made by Paul Starkey, ELAN's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

The new facility, located within sister company HomeLogic's corporate headquarters, boasts fully-equipped racks of ELAN and HomeLogic products that Dealers will use for hand-on installation and programming instruction.

"Our Power Of Three Initiative is moving forward in all respects and we have placed a special emphasis on the training aspects of the program," said Mr. Starkey. "With hands-on centers in Marblehead, Massachusetts and six other locations around the country, plus a keen eye on the economic times for our Dealers, we now offer conveniently located training opportunities throughout the U.S., saving them travel time and money."

Marblehead is located just outside of Boston and is no more than a six hour drive from major cities in the Northeast. Classes at the new facility will be conducted by John Jacobson, ELAN's Northeast Regional Technical Associate. "This new center brings the best training in the industry even closer to home for the entire Northeast corridor," said Mr. Jacobson. "Dealers from Philadelphia to Montreal will now be able to travel a much shorter distance to get the same high standard of hands-on training offered at our Corporate Training Center in Lexington."

Classes at the new Training Center are held on a monthly basis and will initially focus on ELAN and Homelogic system design, hands-on installation and programming. Also included in the instruction, and in all the hands-on equipment racks, are systems from Power of Three ("P3") Integration Partners – leading manufacturers of lighting, climate control and security systems that integrate seamlessly with P3 whole home systems. Full blown Sunfire training classes are scheduled to commence this October.

ELAN's National Training Centers are part of a much broader educational program that won the company the Consumer Electronics Association's 2007 Mark of Excellence award for Best Training and Dealer Support Programs. The hands-on training is part of a multi-faceted approach that also includes ELAN and Sunfire University online courses, Tech Week and the TRIO Dealer Summit for immersive single weeks of bi-annual Dealer and Installer training, and in-field support from ELAN's twelve U.S. Regional Sales Managers and Technical Associates. Additionally, HomeLogic online University is scheduled to debut in 2009, further adding to the array of convent Dealer training options.

In addition, to its Corporate Training Centers in Marblehead, MA (East), Lexington, KY (Central) and Carlsbad, CA (West), the ELAN group host regional P3 Training on a regular basis at sites in Orlando, FL, Kansas City, MO, Denver, CO and Scottsdale, AZ.

ELAN's first training classes at the Marblehead Training Center include ELAN Hands-On Training, ELAN Advanced Training and HomeLogic Basic Training. Sunfire classes are expected to begin this fall.
