Press Release: EHX Fall Adopts “Buying Show” Concept
EHX Attendee Profile Research Report finds 92% of attendees have final purchasing authority.

07.24.2008 — Framingham, Mass. – Electronic House Expo (EHX) announced today the decision to change the format of the trade show exposition to that of a Buying Show. The Buying Show concept will kick off at EHX Fall 2008 (http://www.ehxweb.com) taking place November 4-7, 2008 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA.

The results of post event surveys and industry research have consistently indicated that the majority of attendees have the ability to recommend, specify or purchase products/services and that they make these buying decisions at the show. According to recent EHX Attendee Profile Research Reports, 92% of attendees have final purchasing authority or the ability to recommend or specify products for purchase and 97% of responders indicated that their time at EHX had great or some influence over their purchasing decisions. The data on purchasing power and buying decisions is consistent across all event surveys, which reveals a tremendous opportunity for both exhibiting companies and attendees alike.

For exhibiting companies, the change will present the opportunity to attract new business and generate revenue from orders taken onsite. To facilitate pre-event communication of products and exclusive show offers, EHX has contracted with GoExpo and CDS to provide a fully integrated attendee and exhibitor networking and interest matching software. GoExpo's software will enable targeted promotion of the exclusive show specials available at EHX along with interest matching networking capabilities.

Event attendees will be able to order products direct from the manufacturers and distributors, and in many cases, at discounted event-only pricing. Participating companies will be promoted on the EHX event website and throughout the marketing campaign so that attendees can plan to meet with these exhibitors in advance.

"Creating a Buying Show experience for exhibitors and attendees is a natural step for EHX. In response to overwhelming demand, we have modified our event in several ways to create more opportunities for commerce on the floor and with our new matching and networking software, our attendees and exhibitors can benefit from the event weeks before the doors open", says Jim Wagner, General Manager, EH Events.

Thomas Morgan, Vice President of Worthington University and Chief Technical Officer of Worthington Distribution, is just one exhibiting company that is planning to take advantage of the opportunity, "As a trainer and an exhibitor, attendees often asked me for show specials. I am excited to see EHX embrace the dealer’s desire to place orders and I can ensure that Worthington Distribution will be ramping up our specials and taking advantage of this new aspect to the show."
