Duane Paulson Named SVP of Nortek’s Linear LLC Group
20-year veteran in security, home automation and custom electronics is responsible for product development, marketing and business development for Linear security, PERS, CCTV, access control and more.
Duane Paulson, a 20-year veteran in the home security, home automation and custom electronics industries, has joined Linear LLC as senior vice president, product and market development. Linear is a flagship brand in the Nortek portfolio, which also includes The AVC Group (Elan Home Systems, Niles Audio and Xantech), SpeakerCraft, Panamax/Furman, Gefen, Omnimount, LiteTouch and other prominent CE companies.
At Linear, Paulson will be responsible for technical services, marketing, and product and business development for several lines including security, CCTV, access control, garage door openers, PERS, structured wiring, wireless technology and related products.
Paulson reports to Linear president Mike O’Neal, with whom he served on the Consumer Electronics Association board.
For the past two decades, Paulson has served in executive product management, business development and marketing roles. He was vice president of marketing for ITI and its successor organization, Interlogix, and vice president of global residential marketing for GE Security after GE’s acquisition of Interlogix.
In 2005 Paulson co-founded Sequel Technologies, a provider of hybrid security systems primarily aimed at the residential integration market. Immediately prior to founding Sequel, Paulson served as President of Gibson Audio, the consumer electronics division of Gibson Guitar Corporation.
Paulson is a CEA TechHome Leadership Award recipient. In addition to serving on the CEA board, he has served on the board of the Security Industry Association (SIA).
Paulson is relocating from Minnesota to Carlsbad, Calif., headquarters of Linear and several other Nortek companies.

He joined EH Publishing in 2000, and before that served as publisher and editor of Security Sales, a leading magazine for the security industry. He served as chairman of the Security Industry Association’s Education Committee from 2000-2004 and sat on the board of that association from 1998-2002. He is also a former board member of the Alarm Industry Research and Educational Foundation. He is currently a member of the CEDIA Education Action Team for Electronic Systems Business.
