Hao to replace Pacor as CEO of the holdings company for brands such as Denon, Marantz, McIntosh, Boston Acoustics and Escient.
03.25.2009 —
D&M Holdings continues to shake things up.
Yvonne Hao will be
appointed chief executive officer for audio/video brands such as
Denon,
Marantz,
McIntosh,
Boston Acoustics and
Escient.
Hao, who has served as a D&M board member and is a former general manager of
ADI, will succeed Victor J. Pacor, who is apparently stepping down.
Pacor was
appointed CEO in January. At the time, Eric C. Evans, the newly anointed chairman of the board, said:
"The Board has made an excellent move in electing Vic Pacor to be the new CEO. Vic is a talented executive who knows D&M's competitive strengths intimately. His deep understanding of the industry gives him an unmatched perspective on the road ahead. The Company has benefited and will continue to benefit from his judgment and experience."
Pacor's CEO tenure came on the heals of big changes at D&M. In June 2008, the holdings company was
acquired by Bain Capital Partners. Hao was most recently an executive vice president at Bain Capital. She will be based at D&M's U.S. headquarters in Mahwah, N.J.
The company has also added a president position to be filled by Eric Simonsen, former CFO of Nokia-Siemens Networks. Meanwhile, Masao Goto will be added to the board of directors and promoted to executive vice president.
D&M announced in February that its
Snell Acoustics brand folded into its McIntosh operation. The
Snell move was largely presented as a cost-cutting measure. The company, at the time, referred to "advantageous cross-pollination of engineering, product design and marketing strategies."
It will be interesting to see if more brand reshuffling results from D&M's new executive leadership.
