Denon Receivers, iPod Docks Earn Windows 7 Compatibility Certification

With Windows 7 certification, new receivers and iPod docks can seamlessly stream a variety of digital media.

Denon Electronics has announced that several of its A/V receivers are now officially “Compatible with Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system.

According to the company, the “Compatible with Windows 7” certification ensures that its products are fully compatible with the new Microsoft operating system.

The following receivers and iPod docks have passed Microsoft-designed tests for compatibility and reliability with Windows 7:

  • AVR-4310CI (SRP: $1,999)
  • AVR-3310CI (SRP: $1,499)
  • AVR-990 (SRP: $1,499)
  • AVR-4810CI (SRP: $2,999)
  • ASD-51W (SRP: $299)
  • ASD-51N (SRP:$249) Network Enabled iPod Docks
In addition, all of Denon’s new receivers scheduled for introduction in 2010 will feature the “Compatible with Windows 7” logo. Jeff Talmadge, director, product development & systems integration, explains that Denon has placed a lot of emphasis on the ease of networking compatibility for its product line.

“Denon engineers have made Web access and interconnectivity high priorities in many of our advanced components, and we are delighted to be able to announce official compatibility with the new Windows 7 operating system," he says.

He adds that Windows 7 compatibility will let users experience new options. For instance, Talmadge says that with Windows 7’s "Play To" feature, users will be able to stream music, video and photos to any compatible device on their network "quickly and easily, without any complicated setup procedure.”

Denon says its Windows 7 compatible A/V receivers include networking capabilities with options for Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity for control and digital media steaming. In addition, the company says end users can benefit from the products' network connectivity to many A/V components, including video display and single speaker solutions.

Mark Relph, senior director for Windows product management at Microsoft Corp., notes that through the certification of its receivers and iPod docks, Denon is showing end users that it is committed to providing a quality digital media experience.

“In achieving this certification, Denon demonstrates to consumers that their receivers are compatible with Windows 7 for a seamless and reliable experience,” Relph points out.
