Crestron Touchscreen in Control at Home & at Work
The TSW-1050 touchscreen from Crestron features a 10.1-inch screen, PoE, H.264 streaming video and the company’s built-in Rava SIP intercom technology to provide users with duplex intercomm, VoIP and group paging functionality.
This non-Apple interface solution builds upon the company’s Core 3 UI family of products which also includes 5- and 7-inch models, and Crestron says the capacitive-touch control device features Power over Ethernet (PoE), H.264 streaming video and an edge-to-edge glass industrial design.
“TSW touchscreens feature the gorgeous design elements of today’s popular mobile devices, advanced high resolution graphics that many people say exceeds the latest tablets, and highly responsive control performance to deliver an incredible user experience,” says Fred Bargetzi, vice president of technology for Crestron Electronics. “Screen sizes and pricing are comparable to the latest consumer tablets, with the power and reliability of Crestron control.”
The TSW-1050 also includes Crestron’s Rava SIP Intercom technology that offers users full duplex intercom, voice over IP (VoIP) and group paging functionality. The H.264 streaming video options enables users to view content from other media servers, including the Crestron Network Video Streamer, security cameras, web cameras and other sources.
To aid the installation process Crestron explains that the touchscreen’s PoE option is engineered to simplify the installation process for electronics professionals in new construction or retrofit situations by eliminating the need to pull multiple wires. Crestron adds the unit installs into standard two-gang and three-gang boxes or directly to drywall and other surfaces, and later this year it will support the line of touchscreens with tabletop mounting kits.
