Crestron Prodigy Will be Sold Distributor-Only
Crestron will sell its Prodigy line through the distribution channel, exclusively via value added installers.
Crestron announced today at CEDIA Expo 2011 that it will sell its Prodigy line exclusively through the distribution channel. Crestron-branded products will still be sold through its global channel of value added installers.
“Prodigy is one of our most successful product lines today. We want to allow the brand to continue to grow and succeed,” says Crestron executive VP Randy Klein. “Distributors are very effective at reaching millions of consumers, which will enable us to put Prodigy in more homes than ever before.”
“Our decision to clearly define two separate sales channels for each brand will give both Prodigy and Crestron the best roadmap for continued growth and success,” says Klein. “Prodigy is very simple and ideal for distribution; Crestron is full featured, ultimately scalable and customizable, and is best served through the expertise of our value added dealers.”
Crestron will be exhibiting the Prodigy line and more in booth #1103 and SR-1 at CEDIA Expo 2011.

You can buy all the same crap with a different model # direct. Original plan was…no plan.
