Crestron Keeps Hiring, Touts Zero Layoffs
Home automation leader Crestron Electronics has hired nearly 300 people in the last two years and has "not laid off one employee" in 20 years, said EVP Randy Klein in January 2011.

Crestron Electronics, based in Rockleign, N.J., told The Record (Bergen County, N.J.) that the company hired 122 people this year (through August), increasing the companywide head count by about 4% to 2,500.
Last year, Crestron added 158 workers, according to the publication, “and even in the darkest days of the recession, it made no layoffs ….”
Crestron executive VP Randy Klein told the paper that 2009 was the only year in his 21 years with the company that sales did not increase, explaining, "Certain parts of our business have gone down, certain parts have gone up. ... That's why, as an overall company, we have gone up. Because we are highly diversified and very broad."
He told CE Pro in January 2011, “We have not laid off one employee in the 20+ years I have been here.”
