Crestron Hangs Biggest iPhone Ever to Announce App
To announce the launch of their iPhone application, Crestron hangs one from the ceiling of their CEDIA booth.

09.04.2008 — Crestron is letting everyone at CEDIA Expo know that they're supporting the iPhone, hanging a massive display of the Apple product from the ceiling above their booth.

It's not just a cut-out, either -- it's got real depth.

Crestron's new iPhone application, a free download from the App Store, supports SystemBuilder, VT Pro-e and SIMPL and is treated like any other touchpanel in the system.

According to the company, setup requires:
  • Naming the home or office as a location
  • Entering the IP address of the 2-Series controller
  • Establishing a password for security
All the functionality of the company's control products are available on the iPhone.

Check out a few more iPhone applications for home automation and control.

I’m not an iPhone user but this intrigues me. From the sound of it, I could buy an iTouch for a secondary control instead of something like the 4x or 6x.

A few corrections from the makers of iLoveControl:
iLoveControl Lite is available TODAY for the iPhone and iPod Touch from the AppStore for $2.99. A single room configuration is also available for download from the AppStore for $29.99. iLoveControl supports up to 16 rooms ($150) of audio, video, lights, hvac, drapes, sources, scenes, and works with Crestron and AMX systems. iLoveControl recently released a version of their software for the Samsung Instinct. Control your world TODAY with iLoveControl!

Wow, this looks slick.
I suppose you could choose one over a 4X.
You dont even need an iPhone! The iPod Touch is fully supported.

I read on Crestron web site its fully integrated with the development tools just as any other panel.
And all that for FREE!
Im giddy.
