Crestron Controls Are ARRA Compliant
Crestron's line of control systems falls within the parameters of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act signed into law back in Feb. 2009.
Integrators can spec Crestron control products for jobs that are funded by the government’s 2009 economic stimulus package.
Crestron is stressing to custom electronics professionals that its products qualify for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act ARRA funding. It means CE pros can spec Crestron products for jobs that are funded by federal stimulus dollars.
The company says that because of the built-in scheduling capabilities and astronomical clock functions in its control systems, its products offer users energy-savings options such as the ability to regulate lighting and HVAC levels during peak and non-peak hours. The products also provide shade/drape controls that offer the intelligible use of daylight. Also, Crestron touchpanels display energy consumption in real time to enable users to easily monitor and manage their energy use. In addition, the company emphasizes that its products also meet the clause that states ARRA products be made in the U.S.
“We've delivered energy and cost saving approaches for decades and [we] have the most complete solutions available for projects seeking ARRA funding," asserts David Wilts, Crestron director of integrated building technology (IBT). "Our focus on integrated building technology brings all the different design disciplines together, to realize huge benefits in terms of control, management and savings.”
Crestron is a member of the USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) and its products are all RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant. Crestron has lighting solutions that meet ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) standards and can contribute to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) credits.
When the ARRA (the federal government's economic “stimulus” package) was passed in 2009 it allocated $6.3 billion for state and local governments to make investments in energy efficiency, and it required that all manufactured goods used in ARRA-funded projects be produced in the United States (the “Buy American” provision).
“Crestron is dedicated to empowering project teams with guidance in a 'design assist’ capacity,” adds Wilts. “We share the same goals: lowering the energy costs for government buildings in a cost-effective manner that provides a true return on investment.”
