Cooper Wiring Devices Receptacle Powers USB Devices
The easy to install USB Duplex Tamper Resistant (TR) receptacle from Cooper Wiring Devices is UL listed and it can be used to charge MP3 players, smart phones, tablets and other USB powered components.
The Peachtree, Ga.-based company Cooper Wiring Devices new USB Duplex Tamper Resistant (TR) receptacle cleans up the bulk and simple unattractiveness of electrical outlets filled by wall-wart power supplies. Cooper says its new receptacle cleans up the unsightliness of power supplies by integrating two USB charging ports within the receptacle. The two ports are rated to deliver 2.1 amps, and the company says is enough power to charge most smart phones, tablets and portable music players.
“Building on the successes of our Award Winning Combination USB Charger launched in 2011, we are pleased to introduce our Combination USB Duplex Tamper Resistant receptacle,” says Laura Ulz, president, Cooper Wiring Devices. “As a company we remain committed to the continued development of innovative products of excellence.”
The product can be used for residential and commercial properties, and Cooper offers 15 amp and 20 amp versions of the receptacle. Cooper adds the USB Tamper Resistant receptacle complies with the 2011 NEC Article 406.12 safety standard, and according to the Georgia-based manufacturer, the receptacle is also UL498 and UL 1310 listed to help ensure its safety and compatibility within a variety of environments with a variety of products.
