Control4 Unveils New Line of Multiroom Speakers
Seven new models introduced at EHX Spring.
Control4 unveiled a new line of multiroom speakers, including 6.5" and 8" in-ceiling and 6.5" and 8" in-wall speakers.
The new line, which was showcased at EHX Spring 2008, features seven new models for surround sound and whole-home audio solutions.
The speakers feature dual polymer cones, silk dome tweeters, rubber surrounds, high-temperature voice coils, advanced computer optimized crossovers and simple rotating clamp mounting.
When used as surround speakers, the tweeter can be turned towards the rear or sidewalls to deliver three-dimensional surround sound.
The in-ceiling stereo speaker can be wired to provide two-channel stereo sound from a single speaker. And, for retrofitting environments with shoddy speaker wiring, the speakers are compatible with the company's Wi-Fi Speaker Point.
The new speaker line can be set up at any home or office with the company's Multi-Channel Amplifier, Multi Tuner and the newly released HC-500 with a 160 GB hard drive.
Control4 says the speakers are expected to be available this summer.
The speakers come in the following models:
5.25" 2-way In-Ceiling $199/pr
6.5" 2-way In-Ceiling $299/pr
6.5" 2-way In-Wall $299/pr
6.5" Stereo In-Ceiling $199/each
8" 2-way In-Ceiling $399/pr
8" 2-way In-Wall $399/pr
8" Stereo In-Ceiling $299/each

I dont know what you are complaining about. I like my Control4 patch cables just fine. I find them to be claravoiantly rhythmic.
for you tweakers out there, make sure the “4” in the control4 logo is at 4 oclock. It really opens up the soundstage.

Nice another company that “makes” speakers, just what we all needed. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find an in-wall speaker that was compatible with control4. Now aren’t they a company that produces automation products? Good to see that they’ll work with an amplifier aka Wi-Fi Speaker Point. Is Control4 getting desperate, looking for a lame revenue opportunity? I suppose you could just keep introducing “new”/old/common products every once in a while to keep your name on posts and magazines, free advertising why not?
