Works with any IP-enabled automation device to remotely control lighting, temperature and more.
08.15.2008 — While the iPhone interface may be
old news for Savant, most companies are still catching on to the technology.
CommandFusion is the latest to do so, unveiling its first iPhone application – the iViewer.
The iViewer application for home automation works on the iPhone and iPod Touch and is designed for CommandFusion guiDesigner software that runs on Windows.
iViewer, which works with IP-enabled automation devices, including AMX, Control4 and Crestron, enables remote control of lighting, temperature, curtains, AV equipment, security and more.
It provides two-way feedback to not only control devices, but so you can also receive system status readings.
The Australian-based company says a version of the interface that works in Flash-enabled Web browsers will also be available soon.
The iPhone application will be available for free from
Apple's AppStore if you want to customize a single page (one in portrait mode, one in landscape). The company says if you want to customize more than that, the device needs to be registered with the guiDesigner software for $190 per device.
