‘Cheap’ Security Systems Panned in TV Ads
In Utah, land of door-to-door sales companies, Peak Alarm runs commercials claiming that cheap security systems should be 'cause for alarm.'
Warning residential and commercial users about “cheap security systems,” Peak Alarm goes head-to-head against Vivint and other Utah-based door-to-door security/home automation dealers.
Security systems that can be had for $99 are "cause for alarm," says a Salt Lake City security dealer.
Peak Alarm is running new commercials warning customers to be leery of "cheap security systems." The voice-over explains:
The company installs alarm systems, access control, home automation and related systems for residential and commercial customers.
Peak faces competition from a slew of Utah-based security/automation companies such as Vivint that send youngsters door-to-door over the summer, selling systems for as little as $99 down plus monthly monitoring fees (see Vivint pricing).
