Manufacturers can receive verification for BD-ROM players at test center to shorten production time of BD products.
07.08.2008 — CESI Technology, a member of the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), has been established as the first Blu-ray Disc Test Center in China.
Chinese manufacturers can now receive verification services for production of BD-ROM Movie Players at this center.
This, according to the BDA, will shorten the time needed for development and launch of fully-compliant BD products.
"The establishment of our Blu-ray Disc format Test Center will help complete the ecosystem of Blu-ray Disc business and this center will help Chinese companies shorten the time to market while saving cost," says CESI Technology president Xinhua Zhao.
"We expect to collaborate closely with the BDA to bring the high definition experience to Chinese consumers as soon as possible."
The BDA also says DigiRise's (a Chinese company) DRA digital audio coding technology has passed a crucial technical evaluation. DigiRise has been applying to the BDA to promote its coding format as the standard for next-generation players.
"The BDA is now taking final steps to formally adopt DRA as part of the format," the association says in a statement.
