Visitors toured Crestron's Research Center in Rockleigh, New Jersey.
07.25.2008 — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) launched its
"America Wins with Trade" bus tour earlier this week.
The nationwide tour is visiting 28 states in seven weeks to educate Americans about the benefits of free trade.
One of the first stops on the tour was the Crestron facilities in Rockleigh, New Jersey.
Crestron invited CEA executives and government officials to tour the company's 100,000-square-foot Research Center.
The Research Center houses Crestron's future technology, product testing and quality control techniques and manufacturing processes.
"With 35% of sales of its U.S.-made products going to overseas markets, Crestron is a great example of how trade is an engine of economic growth," says CEA president and CEO Gary Shapiro.
Shapiro has long been an advocate for free trade and
debated the issue with CNN anchorman Lou Dobbs.
The CEA has a
Free Trade Blog that provides news and updates throughout the tour.
