CEA Names Finalists for 2009 Mark of Excellence Awards

02.06.2009 — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has announced the finalists for the 2009 Mark of Excellence Awards.

Winners will be announced March 13, 2009 at EHX Spring 2009 in Orlando, Florida.

The Mark of Excellence Awards honor outstanding innovation and achievement in custom home electronics products, services and installation technologies. Entries are reviewed by a panel of experts and submitted in Supplier and Systems Integrators categories.

New this year, each category will include both a Platinum and Gold award in recognition of outstanding achievement in the industry.

I think it is pretty obvious that someone just threw some crap at the wall to see what would stick.

Come on, URC’s lutron lighting? 

ZigBee Home automation profile?  Are we still giving them the time of day when it isn’t even a standard?  Show me a multi vendor system that will interoperate that uses ZigBee…. 

Lifeware?  Are they still around?  I have enough windows in my house.
