What will be the most compelling new opportunities for CE Pros in 2011? Every year, we narrow the list down to five technologies and markets that we believe hold promise for traditional residential integrators.
We glossed over seven such technologies during CE Pro Live earlier this month. (Download the presentation; registration required: Live Presentation, .pdf presentation)
In the January 2011 issue of CE Pro, we are featuring these 5 Technology Opportunities for CE Pros.
Integrators, please let us hear from you.
If you have thoughts or experience concerning any of these areas, let us know. Any installations? Requests from consumers? Sales or installation tips? Useful vendors?

About the 5 Technologies
We spent quite a bit of effort last year on opportunities in streaming media and the seniors market, but we believe they’re important enough to include in our Top 5 this year since the buzz has escalated greatly.
We excluded smart energy this year because we think integrators are fairly on the ball in that area. There is still a lot to learn – and CE Pro will continue to preach on the matter – but we’re already in the groove. Also, we'll address energy management in the remote monitoring section.
Another area that deserves renewed attention this year is security, which is getting to be sexy again (the subject of my December editorial in CE Pro). We’ll roll that one into the remote home monitoring category as well.
Again, please let us hear from you (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) over the Thanksgiving week, and let us know if and how you’re addressing these technology opportunities.
