CE Pro 100 Summit: A Squirrel Urinated on my Golf Bag
I’ve been accused of being “squirrely” before, but this is getting ridiculous! The second annual CE Pro 100 Integrators Summit kicked off yesterday with a golf tournament at a Rancho Park in Los Angeles sponsored by Concierge Direct.
In all, 42 golfers “braved” crystal clear blue skies and 80-degree temperatures on the smaller par 3 golf course at Rancho. Other than the awesome weather, the most noticeable aspect of the course is that it is overrun by squirrels. I mean they were everywhere… a half dozen at least on every hole. And they were totally unaffected by humans.
As our group was putting out on one hole, I glanced over and saw that a squirrel had climbed onto my golf bag and was taking out the padded head cover for the putter that I had tucked into one of the side pockets. I ran over and shooed him away, only to discover that the vermin had peed all over the golf bag.
The only saving grace from the incident… it isn’t my golf bag. It’s my brother’s that I had borrowed for the day. Luckily, he does not read CE Pro.
Last year, SpeakerCraft’s Jeremy Burkhardt lost a money clip with $8,000 in it during the golf course, so while my luck was certainly not good, it could have been worse.
But as Rodney Dangerfield would have said, "I tell ya I get no respect."
By the way, the low gross individual was Jason Fischbeck of Automated Environments in Mesa, Ariz., who shot a remarkable -1 par. (A certain humble editor from CE Pro tied that score.)
