XLO to Demo Cabling to CE Pros

Installers interested in seeing some of the top A/V companies together in one room can visit XLO in Demo Alley Room number three (DR3) at EHX on March 25-27.

XLO with its exhibiting partners, THIEL Audio, SIM2 and Vutec, will demonstrate the differences quality cabling can make in the performance of an audio/video system.

Ultralink/XLO Products, Inc., a manufacturer of audio and video cables and AC power products, will show its newly updated Signature 3 and Reference 3 cabling lines at this year’s EHX show in Orlando on March 25-27.

Partnering with SIM2, Vutec and THIEL Audio, the cabling company is going to demonstrate to professional electronics installers the differences a properly designed and manufactured cable can make in the performance of an audio/video system.

“We control the manufacturing of our own product, just as we’ve done for more than 15 years,” Allen Sung, president of XLO Cable points out.

“This gives us the ability to completely control our quality control practices and in turn offer lifetime warranties. We have the capacity, machining and engineering expertise to work the conductor and dielectric materials. We design and produce all our specialist connectors. The product is of such quality that it’s supplied OEM to a surprising number of other brands.”

Summarizing the company's latest products, XLO describes its newest cabling products that installers will see at the show:

Reference-3 and Signature-3 interconnect and speaker cables feature the company's use of custom-drawn 99.99998 percent ("Six Nines") pure laboratory grade copper. XLO says the Signature-3's higher specification calls for it to employ its UPOCC 6N copper (Ultra Pure Ohno Continuous Casting process), and proprietary Field-Balanced winding, which it says relates to how each signal-bearing conductor is arrayed relative to the others. XLO adds the cable is optimized for the interactive relationship between current-controlled electromagnetic fields formed around a cable's conductors and the electrostatic fields formed around its insulation when an audio or digital/video signal passes.

XLO Ultralink says these cables are designed to minimize capacitive discharge effects and it describes this phenomenon by explaining that as current passes through insulated conductors capacitance effects store signal energy in the surrounding dielectric material that’s either turned into heat or quickly released out of phase back into the signal path as soon as the polarity changes leading to signal cancellations. The results of this problem it claims is reduced low-level detail, smearing, and out-of-phase artifacts that cause spurious sound or picture distortions.

In addition to its design approach and use of quality copper and shielding materials, XLO says it also employs hand-terminated connectors that are direct-plated 24k gold to further ensure signal integrity.

Installers will be able to experience the results of the engineering behind its products and they will be able to ask XLO representatives about the products at the show.
