ADI to carry LAN Power Systems
ADI is now carrying LAN Power's Cobra and Viper lines of products, which can be used to address IP- and analog-based security system installations.
ADI will now carry solutions from LAN Power Systems to help dealers implement power, video and control solutions for analog and IP surveillance systems.
The product lines include LAN Power’s Viper Analog Modular and Cobra PoE Midspan series of products, and ADI says the products are designed for use with modern UTP structured cabling and legacy Ethernet devices.
ADI points out the Viper convergence platform provides video, power and control over UTP structured cabling for analog systems, and it says the line offer benefits and cost savings when compared to traditional coax cabling solutions.
It adds the Cobra system provides Power over Ethernet (PoE) for IP surveillance and security system products, and when used with legacy Ethernet switches, it provides full power on all ports, gigabit data throughput and hot swap modularity for a wide variety of IP devices, including cameras, VoIP (voice over IP) phones, wireless access points, access control products and more.
Ed Constantine, senior product manager for wire, structured cable, home solutions and tools & hardware for North America at ADI, notes the addition of these products lines will provide installers with more installation options to address a wider scenario of jobs.
“As the IP market continues to gain more share, it is important for ADI to ensure we are providing our dealers with the right solutions to build end-to-end surveillance systems,” Constantine states. “LAN Power’s products make a great addition to our IP networking product offering.”
