ADI Sponsors Learning Lab at CEDIA Expo 2008
Seven courses offer hands-on training with a Video Display Technology and Calibration Lab, Home Theater Audio Lab, and Structured Cable Lab.
07.21.2008 — PRESS RELEASE
Melville, N.Y.– ADI announced today it is sponsoring the Learning Lab Experience at CEDIA EXPO 2008 in Denver, Colorado, September 3 – 7. The Learning Labs include three separate full-featured rooms equipped with the latest technology to provide electronic system technicians with hands-on practice to stay ahead in the custom electronics market.
The Learning Labs will host seven courses from the Electronic Systems Technician (EST) College being offered at CEDIA EXPO to provide attendees with a hands-on component. Electronic systems technicians will learn to install, calibrate and troubleshoot integrated A/V systems. The three labs include a Video Display Technology and Calibration Lab, Home Theater Audio Lab, and Structured Cable Lab to offer real world experience. Participants will be able to take what they learn and apply it directly to their work in the field. When the Learning Labs are not being used for formal training sessions, they will be available for all attendees to interact with products and technology.
“For the first time, CEDIA EXPO will include three Learning Labs prepared to supply hands-on training in a variety of skills. This has been made possible by the extraordinary support of ADI, and its commitment to industry education and training,” said Jeff Gardner, director of technical training at CEDIA. “Registration for classes associated with these labs is very high, and we expect them to be a huge success.”
The Learning Labs will feature solutions from ADI’s vendors including ATW, BenQ, Datacolor, DVDO, Hitachi, Honeywell, ICM, IDEAL, JBL, JDSU, JVC Pro, Key Digital, Leviton, Middle Atlantic, On-Q/Legrand, Peerless, Pioneer, Russound, and Triplett. Visit ADI at booth 300 for more details.
“We are proud to team up with our vendors and CEDIA to sponsor the Learning Labs at this year’s CEDIA EXPO,” said RJ Hirshkind, product manager for residential & commercial A/V at ADI. “With these labs, we’re giving dealers an opportunity to become comfortable with the latest technology, and build their confidence to successfully sell and install residential audio, video and automation solutions.”
