I certainly agree that these types of articles are of little, if any, value. They consist of promotional hype, reinforce myths about AC power that are rampant but eagerly sustained by marketing of such largely unnecessary products. You’ll likely never see any real-world comparisons because the very existence of so-called “power conditioners” is due to a market created by instilling “bogey man” fear in consumers and then generating incredulous “specifications” based on meaningless lab bench tests. I’ve evaluated some $3,000 “conditioners” whose only functional internal part was a 50-cent MOV and most of the unit’s cost was clearly for fancy cosmetics! The entire “power conditioning” industry is essentially a protection racket with nearly non-existent science to support it. Yeah, that’s how I really feel - I’m an engineer, not a marketing weasel.

What I would like to see in these types of reports is a real comparison and evaluation. WHY would we need or want to use a $2000 unit as opposed to a $450 unit?
These types of articles are of little value otherwise.
