Access Networks Joins ihiji invision Partner Program

ihiji has announced the addition of Access Networks to its manufacturer partner program. Access Networks is a provider of enterprise-grade plug-and-play networking solutions for the automated residence. Together, the two companies deliver a visible solution by integrating ihiji’s invision system into Access Networks’ preconfigured network solutions. This allows the integrator to more easily visualize vital data stored in network devices without needing to directly access the client network or log into each device separately. HTSA Forges Ahead Without Glikes; Biz Up for Audio, Control, Networking

The abrupt departure of HTSA’s long-time executive director Richard Glikes did not dampen the mood at the organization’s 15th annual fall meeting in Denver this week. Dealers and vendors alike seem upbeat about the future of the Home Technology Specialists Alliance under new leadership. Glikes resigned last month after 15 years at the helm; his successor -- a “managing director,” not an “executive director” -- will be named later this year. Booths at CEDIA Expo Create Strange Bedfellows

In many ways, building a booth for CEDIA Expo 2011 is like constructing a sand castle at the beach. It takes a lot of hard work, is wondrous when it's completed, and then "gets washed away" after just three short days. Building these momentary exhibits is complicated and often requires manufacturers to partner with each other to bring the technology to life. Display manufacturers need switchers and cable; cable companies need displays; projector companies need screens. Sometimes, strange bedfellows can be made.
