Tributaries HXC6 Extends HDMI Signals 148 Feet
Requires a double run of standard Cat-5e or Cat-6 to extend 1080p signals.
Tributaries Cable has introduced its new HXC6 HDMI over CAT6 Extender, providing a simple solution for extending HDMI signals.
The HXC6 requires a double run of standard Cat-5e or Cat-6 network cabling. The unit can send 1080p/8-bit color signals up to 148ft over Cat-5e, while Cat-6 sends 1080p/12-bit color (Deep Color) signals up to 50ft.
The HXC6, which is compliant with HDMI 1.3, HDCP 1.1 and DVI 1.1, has a small footprint to fit behind flat panels or inside single-gang mudrings.
Tributaries also now offers the HXC6R Repeater that can double the maximum distance. The device can be inserted at the end of the first dual-run of Cat-5e or Cat-6 cable from the HXC6R transmitter. A second length of dual Cat-5e or Cat-6 can then be run to the HXC6 receiver.
The HXC6 Extender (MSRP: $300) and HXC6R Repeater ($150) are sold separately and are available now.
