TiVo Officially Launches Netflix Streaming
Netflix streaming comes to TiVo Series3, TiVo HD and TiVo HD XL DVRs.
TiVo has officially launched Netflix streaming on its TiVo Series3, TiVo HD and TiVo HD XL DVRs.
The service is available at no additional charge to subscribers of both services. Customers will have access to both HD and SD content and a total of more than 12,000 movies and TV episodes.
TiVo, which announced the Netflix partnership at the end of October, says the libraries for both standard and HD titles "are expected to grow in the weeks and months ahead."
"With so much talk focusing on the economy these days, this partnership makes more sense than ever because it brings people more movies at home, offering substantially more entertainment options than cable or satellite," says Tara Maitra, GM and VP of content services at TiVo.
Netflix plans on streaming to LG and Samsung Blu-ray players in early December. The company will also discontinue HD DVD on December 15.
