SpeakerCraft to Debut three in-wall Cinema Subwoofers
Subs continue SpeakerCraft's tradition of high-performance with minimal intrusion into the living space.
Press Release
America’s original manufacturer of in-wall speakers, announces three new subwoofer systems for in-wall applications.
With the tremendous increase in demand for in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, the requests for in-wall subs to compliment these speakers has grown dramatically. SpeakerCraft has addressed this demand with the Cinema subwoofers. These three new models are designed to blend seamlessly with a wide variety of loudspeakers.
“Deep bass with dynamic impact is usually relegated to a large enclosure and a substantial footprint in the room,” says Jeff Francisco, SpeakerCraft’s V.P. of Engineering. “These subs will continue our tradition of high-performance with minimal intrusion into the living space.”
The key to the success of this effort revolves around unique driver construction. Tom Lee, SpeakerCraft’s principal loudspeaker engineer is responsible for the new drivers. “Quality sub bass requires more than just a driver in the right size box,” says Lee. “A careful balance between the motor structure, suspension, cone parameters and cabinet design is
critical to delivering the sound pressure and low frequencies required in today’s music and theater systems. We have successfully created that balance and we have done so in the wall.”
The new Cinema subs will be available in 8-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch versions. Dedicated amplifiers with 150, 200 and 250 watts of power are optimized to drive the three sub models and are standard shelf mount components to be place with the source equipment. All three amps feature volume control on the front panel and low-pass crossover and phase control on the rear panel.
Each model is available with a corresponding MDF cabinet that fits into a standard 3 ½-inch stud bay creating an acoustic suspension system. If desired, the driver can be used without the enclosure in an infinite baffle installation.
The three systems will retail for $750, $1,000 and $1,500 respectively.
SpeakerCraft, established in 1976, devoted itself for more than a decade to the design and development of architectural loudspeakers and became known as the prime OEM for many well-known, in-wall speaker brands in the field. In marketing its own brand, now one of the widest lines of architectural speakers in the industry, SpeakerCraft brings with it years of experience and a dedication to dealer satisfaction.
