CEDIA Expo 2009 isn't about the Atlanta nightlife or getting free stuff from manufacturers.

But they are nice perks.

CE Pro can’t help you much with the nightlife, but we can help you get some free stuff from Expo Exhibitors. Here is a sample of some contests and giveaways on the CEDIA Expo 2009 show floor:

FireFold (booth No. 6429): Photo with Model Spokeswoman

Looking to make a splash with CE pros (especially the male ones) in its CEDIA Expo debut, FireFold is offering attendees a chance to meet model Linsey, get a photo with her and download it from a unique URL.

It’s also giving away tote bags, bottle openers, lanyards, koozies, sports bags and more.

Elk Products (booth No. 315): Free Touchscreen

Attendees can register to win an ELK-TS07 touchscreen and RMDesigner software.

Holland Electronics (booth No. 459): Bag of Tools

Attendees that sign up are eligible to win an “Installer Supply Bag” each day of the show, a value of $190. There’s also a grand prize of an “Installer Supply Bag” filled with installation tools and supplies worth a total of $700.

AVAD (booth No. 1765): Guitars

It will give away one limited-edition AVAD guitar each day of the show.

Parts Express (booth No. 3260): “Cash”

Well, it’s actually “Parts Express cash,” but it presumably has some kind of value. The distributor says it will do giveaways and drawings twice a day with prices ranging from the aforementioned cash and its newest merchandise.

NuVo Technologies (booth No. 1965): Guitars

It has become a tradition. NuVo will give away four BC Rich Trace Warbeast guitars, retail of about $490, during the show. Guitar giveaways will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

This year, keeping with its guitar theme, it’s also giving away some “Rock Band” controllers.

Universal Remote Control (booth No. 1443): $250,000 (Value)

Throughout its “URC Top Gun Programmer” training, which takes place throughout the show, the company says it will distribute $250,000 in prizes.

Salamander Designs (booth No. 1219): JumpSeat Ottoman

That’s just the grand prize, valued at $999. The furniture maker is also giving away an articulating flat-panel TV mount and an SD/IR Repeater Kit.

Attendees just need to swing by the booth and fill out a survey to be eligible to win.

Draper (booth No. 1125): Motorized Tapestry

It’s the Fine Art for FlatScreen motorized tapestry. Attendees need to fill out an entry form.

Innovolt (booth No. 5930): Energy and Caffeine

Get to the booth early, Innovolt advises, to get a free CVSS-based Plug-in Protector. The company plans to give the protectors ($50 value) to dealers after they “have learned that Innovolt is the most complete power protection on the market.”

Keeping with the energy theme, it’s also serving Starbucks coffee on Friday morning.

Fusion Research (booth No. 2537): Studio Movie Server

Carrying an MSRP of $3,495, the new Studio Movie Server stores up to 250 DVDs, includes an "add your own" storage option and can integrate with any IR-based control system. It has the same interface and video quality of the flagship Cinema Server and Genesis product lines.

Attendees can register by having their badge scanned at Fusion's booth.

Audio Authority (booth No. 2767): Component Matrix System

CE pros can enter to win an SCP-11 Cat 5 Extender Kit, a C-1071 IR to Bluetooth converter, an AVP-11 Dual Cat 5 Extender Kit, an 1185ci Integrator Distribution Amp, and the grand prize, a new CMX-144 4x4 Component matrix system.

AMX (booth No. 1707): Home Theater

Not many details are available, but AMX says it’s planning a contest and will give the winner a home theater. Yes, a home theater. It seems worth swinging by the booth for details.

If you know of a contest or giveaway that’s not represented here, add it in the comments.
