Police: It was a TV Remote Control, Not a Bomb
Not the first time a remote was called a 'suspicious object'

We've seen remote controls bomb before, but no one ever called the police about it.
In New Delhi, the bomb squad was called when a "suspicious object" was found in a market square. After cordoning off the crime scene and examining the device, police determined that it was in fact a harmless TV remote control.
The Times of India reports:
"It was an old remote without any cell. Police reached the spot and found nothing suspicious upon examination," said Chhaya Sharma, DCP, South.
A senior police officer from the southern range said: "We received a call about a remote-like device. The remote, we believe, was dropped by someone. It turned out to be a dud bomb call. However, we have sent the remote for forensic test."
Interestingly, shopkeepers recalled a similar instance recently in which "a bag was found unattended in the market, which also turned out to be a hoax."
Which? The bag or the market?
