OmniMount Demo: 32-inch LCD Installed in 6 Minutes

The clock was ticking on OmniMount’s Erick Valkingburg as he installed an in-wall mount and attached a 32-inch LCD TV.

At the company’s CEDIA Expo 2010 booth, OmniMount’s Erick Valkingburg installed an in-wall mount and attached a 32-inch LCD TV in 6 minutes.
That’s right … 6 minutes.
The nine-step installation can be done in half the time of other conventional mounts, according to designer Mike Townsend. The reason it’s so fast is that the technician does not have to separately install the in-wall casing and the arm itself because they are all one self-contained lightweight unit.
The unit is a full-motion mount built to fit any LED, LCD, plasma or 3D TV up to 75 pounds, with traditional tilt, pan, and swivel. It also offers ArmGlide, allowing for 11.35 inches of lateral arm travel.
One other reason Valkingburg was able to work so quickly is that the bolts, Allen wrenches and other parts were not all thrown together in a plastic bag in the box. Instead, OmniMount separates them in individual hard plastic.
