Press Release: MusicGiants Teams Up With ADI to Help Dealers Deliver High-Definition Content to Consumers
Leading content provider and distributor stress the value proposition of "fully-loaded" media servers to custom home electronics dealers and installers.

11.07.2007
Long Beach, CA -- EHX FALL -- November 7-9, 2007 -- Booth #1113 -- MusicGiants, the only online music service to offer high-definition lossless digital recordings, today announced it is teaming up with ADI, a leading global wholesale distributor of security and low voltage products, to help dealers deliver high-definition content collections and provide complete custom electronics solutions.

Through ADI and its dealers, MusicGiants will offer pre-loaded collections of music and video that can dramatically enhance the appeal of the growing media server category -- serving as "the fuel for the Ferrari," so to speak--as well as boost the profitability of the installing dealer.

"Delivering a new media server with HD content is a much better experience for the consumer, and simply makes sense," says Jack Wrigley, MusicGiants Vice President of Sales. "ADI dealers not only will realize greater revenue on each project, but they also can differentiate themselves as dealers that deliver added value. The result will be a superior initial consumer experience, which can lead to greater overall customer satisfaction with both the dealer and the media server manufacturer."

At EHX, MusicGiants representatives will be available at the ADI booth #1113 to educate dealers on how to deliver a fully loaded installation, and be profitable at it in the process.

"As a distributor, ADI is always looking for new ways to add value to our dealers and help them compete in the custom electronics market," said RJ Hirshkind, product manager for residential and commercial A/V at ADI. "ADI is pleased to offer MusicGiants' technology, and make it easy for dealers to provide high-definition content and deliver complete solutions."

Available through ADI, MusicGiants is the only service to offer CD-quality or better digital recordings from the top music companies like EMI Music, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Concord Music Group and Naxos Classical, as well as numerous independent labels. It also offers Super HD downloads, such as re-mastered DVD Audio or SACDs available in either 5.1 surround sound or 2.0 stereo, which play at sample rates of up to 11,000 kbps.

In addition to traditional downloads of tracks and albums, this content can also be delivered en masse via MusicGiants' new Concierge Collections, which pre-load assortments of high-definition music on music servers or hard drives, based on the homeowners' preferences regarding genres or artists. MusicGiants dealers not only make money upfront on Concierge Collections they sell, but they also receive a recurring stream of revenue from their clients' purchases in the MusicGiants HD Media Store.

I would like to point out a couple of oversights with regard to the article above. MusicGiants is NOT “the only online music service to offer high-definition lossless digital recordings”...Linn Audio in the UK was the first and iTrax.com, our new venture is doing it as well.

In fact, it is questionable whether a repackaged archival tracks from the catalog of the major labels can qualify as “high definintion” when the source was constrained by the technology of the era. It is certainly true that MG delivers everything that was present in the master but their downloads are not “the fuel for the Ferrari”...a line I coined and frequently use at trade shows to illustrate the benefits of REAL HD files.

It’s a press release from the company ... what were you expecting, no bias?
