Moneual Lab announces a voice-activated home media system “I*magine”
I*magine has a 7” wide-screen LCD touchscreen on the front and is armed with the most advanced components.
09.09.2007 — PRESS RELEASE
IRVINE, Calif. -- Moneual Lab today announced a new concept home media PC system “I*magine” for the mainstream consumers and commercial markets. I*magine has been specially designed for home users who prefer not to use traditional PC controls for their entertainment systems. Even though PCs have been technically improved over the past two decades, much of the power in home PCs goes untapped due to unfamiliarity with the interface.
On a mission to bring more exciting digital content to the living room, Moneual has developed a user-friendly Interface that is composed of a simple “universally recognizable” icon set. Anyone who wants to enjoy music, videos, internet and more from the system can simply use voice commands to the system or click an icon on the touch-screen LCD screen in front.
Built on the latest Microsoft Windows platform, I*magine also integrated the latest MoDT (Mobile on Desktop) platform (Santa Rosa) from Intel, which exceeds the performance of normal desktop PCs in terms of speed and power/heat characteristics; equipped with both HDMI 1.3 (video+audio) output and 5.1 channel analog audio outputs for easy integration into home media environments. I*magine is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo T7700, on Windows Vista Home Premium platform, with 4GB DDR2 memory, 750GB of hard disk storage, and a slot-loading Panasonic DVD/RW.
“I’m very proud of announcing this product on the first day of CEDIA Expo 2007. I had a dream to make a very simple and easy-to-use PC system that anyone can use with the TV in their living room. Now I feel that I’m approaching the realization of this dream. As they say, half the fun is getting there, so come along with us on this exciting journey. This is a good start.” said Harold Park, the CEO of Moneual Lab.
“Microsoft is pleased that a new innovator such as Moneual Lab is building its business on the Windows Media Center platform and using it as the hub in their vision for the Digital Home,” said John Ball, General Manager US OEM Division. “We look forward to being part of their success in bringing their dream of easy-to-use digital convergence to the consumer.”
Mass production is expected later this year and the price will be close to $5,000 per unit which is similar to the award winning 902 EUNI system introduced at $4,999.00 earlier this year.
Moneual lab is well known as a premium home entertainment system solution provider. Moneual received a 2007 Innovation Award from Microsoft at CES 2007 and has been fully supported by major component vendors such as Intel, Microsoft and AMD. In the current climate of commoditization of PCs and falling prices, Moneual has been rapidly growing share in the high end home media market. Moneual expects that sales revenue will reach 45M USD in 2007 and 70M USD in 2008 respectively.
