The U.S. distributor of Monitor Audio has recently added Tangent Audio and Eccobox to its offerings.
11.13.2008 — One of the toughest tasks for anyone involved in the electronics industry is identifying a trend before it happens.
Kevro, a distributor known for its marquee Monitor Audio line of speakers, recently found itself in the position of having to transition out of some old product lines and into some new ones.
At
CEDIA Expo 2008, the company showed the results of its transition into the world of digital technologies with its debut of Tangent Audio products and Eccobox back boxes.
Jeff Myatt of Kevro, who recently visited with CE Pro and
Electronic House, says these product lines will help dealers meet the growing demand for Internet radio, iPod accessories and green-friendly back boxes that meet ASTM-84 and E814 fire-safety standards.
Among the highlights of the Tangent line of products is a rack-mountable Internet radio component, which allows homeowners to choose from over 13,000 stations.
Kevro will also handle Tangent's EVO speakers, tabletop radios and amplification accessories for use with iPods, iPhones and other personal music players.
The Eccobox products use of recycled denim material that, in addition to its fire-safety benefits, can minimize sound leakage into adjacent rooms.
Meanwhile, Monitor has been added its new Radius HD speakers to its product lineup.
The Radius HD line will incorporate several upgrades to the speakers' cabinetry and other slight modifications to improve their performance.
