Press Release: Inteset Ensures Highly Reliable Media Center Servers with its Heartbeat Monitoring Service
Inteset will remotely monitor all essential hardware, software, and network aspects of its media servers and advanced extender systems.

01.15.2008 — Hanover MA—Inteset, LLC is now offering a new sophisticated 24hr/7day/365yr server monitoring service dubbed “Inteset Heartbeat Monitoring Service.” Inteset will remotely monitor all essential hardware, software, and network aspects of its media servers and advanced extender systems. Dealers opting to subscribe to this service will earn annuity based revenue from their customers.

The monitoring agent on the system will track elements including hard drive, fan, and power supply faults, low disk space, network bandwidth usage and connectivity, various applications including Media Center, system\CPU\video processor heat, and more. Each monitored system is remotely polled on a scheduled interval by Inteset to ensure uptime and availability. Scheduled system status reports are distributed to the dealer for each monitored system. All trouble alerts from a system are instantly distributed to Inteset for analysis and can be set up to be forwarded to the dealer as well. In addition, certain monitors will take self correcting actions on the system depending on the trouble.

“We view this innovative monitoring service as a natural progression to the media server product offering,” explains David Hirsh, Inteset Business Development. “Uptime and reliability of these systems is critical to the end-user who is storing and playing back personal media and to the dealer who wants to limit service calls and maintain a great relationship with their customers. In addition, Inteset media servers are being used more and more as the hub of home automation services. At this level, uptime is even more crucial. Dealers can proactively initiate communication with their customers, informing them of potential issues, instead of reacting to real issues and an angry customer,” continues Hirsh.

Inteset now offers a combination of support service for its media servers that is matched by no other vendor. With the combination of the Inteset Secure Lockdown™ feature, remote support access, and now the Heartbeat Monitoring Service™, Inteset dealers can rest assured that those systems are running reliably.

The Heartbeat Monitoring Service is offered on a subscription basis and is available on Vana VA640-Si rev b., Denzel TP420-Si, and Maximus TCD00-Si models and higher.
