Help Fight California’s TV Ban
As if unemployment wasn't high enough and tax revenues weren't low enough, the state is pushing through its crazy regulation that would effectively ban your ability to sell big-screen TVs.
Integrators across the country, not just in California, need to rally to fight this proposed regulation. It is detrimental to custom installers across the state.
It also doesn't make sense that the state wouldn't ban the purchase of TVs. Consumers can still get big-screen TVs out of state or on the Internet. The state of California is basically saying, "We don't want the tax revenue." The regulators at the California Energy Commission obviously haven't thought this through.
So get off your butts, and take a few minutes to sign up as a supporter with the Californians for Smart Energy coalition. The group, which is supported by both CEA and CEDIA, is fighting this regulation. It is holding press conferences, getting media exposure, visiting legislators, etc.
The proposed regulation makes me ashamed to say I'm a native Californian.

This has nothing to do with CA…Big business buys in here because we are one of the last not used up chewed up and spit out populations and try’s telling us what to do…CA has not done anything about anything that has happened to us politically, why would this be different, If your ashamed as a CA’er then you always were homie. CA is laughed at by my family in other state’s, that doesn’t translate to be ashamed…Its hater spinach ayhh ggug gug gug. The more they hate the more we shine…Lets step it up and make some new TV’s or something…Or spend our time advancing projection techniques to make them more commercially applicable and economical. Again just because something is against the law does not determine right or wrong, just illegal at that time and point in perspective history. Ok, so 60+inch tv’s are not allowed to be sold in CA.
A. Watch less TV
B. Projector…any size depending on budget
C. stack 4 59inch ones and look for manufactures with minimal borders around the image, big enough for you?
Come on, anyone else? What do you all think? I will stop ranting now…Not to mention this is a band aid on a bullet wound as far as helping out with the environmental effects caused by our extravagance and constant waste.
@Sabine Stochastic:I have no idea what you just said, but it sounds ridiculous.
Banning the sale of 60”+ plasmas is just silly. I would guess there is a very small percentage of the population in California that own that size plasma, so really how much of a difference will the ban make? Besides, with all the talk of plasma being a dying technology, how much energy can this really save.
Who knows maybe this will lead to a ban on the legislators that propose this idea.
People need to realize that these elected officials should not be treated better than the average citizen. I would not let them in my restaurant, business or anywhere near my friends or family.
People need to stop voting for these morons.
But I guess the voters get what they deserve.
