HDBaseT Alliance to Demo Multi-Device Home Entertainment at CEDIA 2011
Delivering 100 watts of power plus A/V, Ethernet and controls over a single LAN cable, the HDBaseT demonstration will be showcased at CEDIA EXPO 2011
HDBaseT Alliance, the cross-industry alliance formed to promote and standardize HDBaseT technology for whole-home and commercial distribution of uncompressed high definition (HD) multimedia content, today announced it will demonstrate HDBaseT enabled devices in a home entertainment setting at CEDIA EXPO 2011 in Indianapolis, Ind., Sept. 7-10.
The Alliance will simulate a consumer living room installation, illustrating the simplicity of a home theater installation using HDBaseT technology. Using HDBaseT, devices and displays within the home are networked using a single Cat5e/6 LAN cable. Sending the 5Play™ feature set, HDBaseT converges uncompressed, full HD video, audio, 100BaseT Ethernet and various control signals, while also sending up to 100 watts of power over the cable−enough to power a display and eliminate the need for close proximity to a power outlet.
Throughout the show, products from HDBaseT Alliance member companies AMX, Atlona, Crestron Electronics, CWIN Technology, Kordz, Kramer Electronics, Microsemi, Silvertel and Transformative Engineering will be on display in the Alliance booth to demonstrate the variety of commercially available products supporting HDBaseT. Many Alliance members will also have a presence at CEDIA EXPO, including:
AMX
Atlona Technologies
Crestron Electronics, Inc.
Gefen Inc.
HANK Electronics Ltd
Kordz USA, Inc
Legrand (Vantage Controls)
Structured Cable Products
Transformative Engineering, Inc
Vaux Electronics
