The new Triton Seven speakers from Goldenear, debuting at CES 2013, look pretty much like the original Triton Two towers, except they’re a little bit smaller.
But the new speaker is $699 each and the original is $2,500. We asked Goldenear founder Sandy Gross to explain the difference in price.
“They sound very similar,” he says. “They’re using similar drivers and similar voicing, but the larger ones obviously will play louder and have deeper bass.”
For those listening at “relatively low levels or with less demanding program material, they would sound extremely similar.”
In this video he explains a bit more about the speakers (and sources) and plays a short demo.
