What Did You Buy on Black Friday?
Black Friday is here again and I have revisited the online deals.
I found a good one: an HP MediaSmart Windows Home Server with 640 GB hard drive for $200 (free shipping, no tax) from Newegg.com, a savings of $200. Sorry, guys, the online retailer sold out, so today's price on the product is $350.
The folks at Microsoft were kind enough to send me the standalone WHS software, but I couldn't get it to work with my old, worthless PC. When I saw the Newegg deal, I had to bite. With the new Powerpack 3 for WHS, this server will be the ultimate back-up and storage machine for my S1Digital Windows Media Center and all the other PCs in the household.
Of course, extra storage can be had for cheap -- about $1 t0 $1.50 per GB.
Sadly, many of the products on black Friday are selling for far less than integrators pay "wholesale." Fess up -- did you buy anything online for yourself or for your warehouse?

Nothing
A couple of Tom Toms
Class CII narcotics, (brand only), in order to handle all phone calls asking if I had any 50” flat panel TV’s in the $500-$600 price range.
The best I could do was recommend a Mag-Light Halogen flashlight, a GAF Viewmaster, and a one gallon can of Benjamin Moore, “Eggshell White,” paint for their wall. Unfortunately there were no takers, but the CII’s allowed me to deal with it.
I was able to land a few FREE Toshiba Blu Ray Players with the purchase of some 40’’ LCDs thru the buying group
They will turn into cash later on, seems like there hard to come by even on line.
Just playing the game I guess.
I find the term “Black Friday” offensive! But I did get a great discount on blank “Certified Minister” forms on the web.
doesent the term “BLACK FRIDAY” mean that is the day the retailers hope there company will be in the Black, dollar wise, instead of “IN THE RED”
Yes Virginia, it did, in the old days, it did…

1TB storage is available for < $150. That’s $.15 per GB, not $1.50.
@AEXO
You are right, but I still find the term offensive especially when people are making money off of selling “colored” tvs…

A Christmas tree.
