Early THX Grad Buys Home Theater Franchise
Kurt Lewis, who was in the second THX graduating class, will open a Theater Xtreme Store in the Atlanta area.
One of the first graduates of the THX training program at Skywalker Ranch is opening up a Theater Xtreme franchise.
Kurt Lewis, principal of Badkhan Entertainment Group, will open the store in Alpharetta, Ga., a northern suburb of Atlanta.
He was in the second graduating class of the THX program, and has 20 years of experience in the custom A/V market. While working in Southern California, he installed home theaters and audio systems for Hollywood clientele including Robert Zemeckis, Danny DeVito and Jimmy Smits, according to Theater Xtreme.
"I have long been interested in owning my own custom A/V business," Lewis says. "Theater Xtreme employs the turnkey approach that is necessary for running a successful business."
Founded in 2005, Theater Xtreme Entertainment Group, Inc (OTCBB: TXEG) is a franchise operator focused on cookie-cutter solutions for home theaters with 80- to 120-inch front projection systems. The company currently operates five company-owned stores and oversees nine franchises in 10 states.
Theater Xtreme stores feature five to six lifestyle vignettes that showcase packaged systems installed for $5,400 to $17000,000. The products, which are not sold over- the-counter, include name-brand A/V systems, as well as house-brand furniture, video screens, media servers, and home theater accessories.
