Dr. Floyd E. Toole Wins CEDIA Lifetime Achievement Award

Dr. Floyd E. Toole has been a pioneer in the acoustics industry for more than 40 years.
The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) has named Dr. Floyd E. Toole the recipient of its 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award.
Toole, honored at CEDIA's annual Electronics Lifestyles Awards Banquet, has been a pioneer in the acoustics industry for more than 40 years.
His research has focused on small-room acoustics and evaluating the relationship between technical measurements of audio equipment and listeners' perceptions.
Toole's findings have been applied to loudspeaker design and manufacturing.
Toole, now retired, is an acoustical consultant and contributor to CEDIA University. He was named on of CEDIA University's Top 10 Instructors in 2007.
Toole joined the National Research Council of Canada in 1965, reaching the position of senior research officer. He moved to Harman Research in 1991 as corporate vice president of acoustical engineering.
CEDIA also recently announced its Manufacturers' Excellence Awards.

Dr. Toole’s course “The Room And The Loudspeaker” remains my all-time favorite CEDIA course. It’s a pleasure to attend his lectures.
